5'3 WAR TURBO BANGER

As a Los Angeles–based surfer, I’ve spent years questioning two things:
the city’s consistently underwhelming surf—and whether I’m actually any good at surfing.

After two decades of that internal debate, I finally decided to do something about it.

I built a board designed to squeeze a few extra bang bangs out of a typically dismal Los Angeles wave. Thus, the Turbo Banger was born.

The Turbo Banger is a small-wave groveler built with one goal in mind: making tiny surf feel far more high-performance. It blends a more performance-oriented rocker and refined rail outline with proven small-wave essentials like added volume. The result is a board that paddles easily yet still allows for radical surfing.

The real magic—also known as the turbo—comes from the single channel paired with an MR-style 2+1 fin setup. Larger side fins generate speed and drive, while the small trailer and channel add bite, control, and hold when it counts.
